And the day's award for the most asinine comment goes to Doctor Robert Califf, Director of the Food and Drug Administration.
FDA's timeliness in interviewing a whistleblower and getting into the Abbott facility for inspections were "too slow," Califf said. "Some decisions in retrospect could have been more optimal."
To many questions from lawmakers on the agency's work flow and timeliness, Califf simply said, "We don't have a great answer."
Offering his resignation on a silver platter would be a great response.
But he won't. He's too much a part of the bureaucracy that literally created this mess.
He has no comprehension of the harm his agency has done.
He's a symptom of government that just doesn't give a damn.
